You cannot treat Down syndrome. Sure, there may be behaviors or illnesses that a person with Down syndrome can get and they need to be treated, but Down syndrome in and of itself is not treatable.

Thanks Bethany!  Psychiatrist prescribed ADERALL (strong amphetamine) to my Down Syndrome grandson with sever hearing and speach problems because of EKMO given at birth to save his life.

Down kids have frustration, anger, short attention span, and problems that none of us can understand.  This Doctor (if I can give him that respect) did not refer him to a behavior specialist.  He wrote the script after 20 minutes of "observation!"  Please, all of you, get a second opinion.
