Busy week - well, a couple weeks

Posted Aug 04 2009 5:32pm

IMG_9197.JPG I'm blogging in between the lines of the drama known as my life.

There is so much stuff to cover - sometimes I feel like I'm fending off an avalanche with a snow shovel. To keep up to speed on news, use my News & Analysis links on the right. Plus I like Thoughts from a Conservative Mom and Pundit & Pundette who each do a good job rounding up and summarizing the news that resonates with us.

I could do this all day, but my family has so much going on.

Sophia will be going back to Liberty University in two weeks. It's been so wonderful to have her home, but I am already not looking forward to another goodbye. When your kids grow up, it's like Hello-Goodbye-Hello-Goodbye. We have so many coming and going around here.

Today: haircuts and shopping for the girls. Goodwill and Salvation Army to look for a desk for Sophia to take with her.

Tomorrow: dentists appointments for 7 Curtis family members. I guess our dentist had time to fill and just called to remind us who was overdue. Zach has a court appearance for the aftermath of the motorcycle accident, in which the only damage done was to him, but he has a ticket to reckon with.

Thursday: Sophia's having her impacted wisdom teeth pulled - by the same wonderful oral surgeon who's done three of her big brothers. All of Tripp's and my birth children needed - and I mean NEEDED - braces, and looks like they will all need their wisdom teeth removed. The collision of our two different ancestries and jawlines apparently was not good at all.

Monday through Wednesday next week I will be going to Boston with Maddy, Jonny and Justin. A 10-hour drive, but I love traveling with my kids. This trip has been funded with the help of friends - and mostly through a bake sale at our church. While I cannot say exactly why we will be there, it has to do with Maddy singing :)

Anyway, please know that while I wish I could spend fulltime blogging - as I do during the school year - right now life is looming large.

I will blog in the odd moments. Please continue to send me stuff. And if you have written me recently, please know that I answer every email. Sometimes it just takes a while.
