Goodness, time passes quickly! Especially when you're busy and visiting with family. Or family is visiting you. We picked up Derek, Angie, and the girls from the airport one Saturday morning a couple weeks ago. Sarah was so excited to finally meet her big brother, her new sis-in-law, and her nieces. Though apprehensive of Grandma & Grandpa, Kaylee & Chloe took right to Aunt Sarah~
At the house, everyone made themselves quickly at home, and Sarah played dress up with Kaylee & Chloe
Chloe snuggled up to Uncle Steve fast, and was often seeking him out for snugs & hugs
Chloe made nice with Uncle Doug too
And though she wasn't sure about Uncle Jim since he wasn't here all the time,
She did warm up to him too...
Chloe & William
Sarah was thrilled to have her nieces around
One day, I brought Angie, Brittany & Sarah out for a Girl's Day Out~ we went shopping all day long!
Robert had taken Derek, Angie, & Steve to a Red Sox game that week~
and had even arranged for a little surprise for Derek & Angie, since we weren't at their wedding in January~
While they were visiting, we tried for a family shot, sans Mariko, who is still in California. After numerous shots, I was able to photoshop one good one, though the
outtakes are pretty fun.
Here's the final group shot~ in the back row, l-r: Steph, Jim, Derek, Angie, Steve, Brittany (with the cat)
next: Kaylee, Kei, Sarah, Chloe, Robert, William
front: Doug
I finally comprehend what my parents and Robert's parents meant when they would say to us after we would visit them, "It's so quiet here without you". Even though our home is usually a symphony of the sounds of a family, it's different with the addition of very young children again. The giggles of an 18-month old and a nearly 3 yr old are very much missed since they left. But they'll be back again, soon enough.
