What does one do on a boring Saturday night? One can choose to play with brand new can of shaving cream. I asked the girls if they had any idea how much shaving cream was in a can and they both responded by staring at me blankly. They do that alot. Staring at me blankly, I mean. Then I asked them if they wanted to find out and that got their interest. Mom was going to do one of those weird things again. It's always fun to watch that.
So, we covered the table with newspaper and emptied out a whole brand new can of shaving cream. I was disappointed to find that this was all it contained. I was hoping for a mountain of the stuff. I bet in the old days you would have gotten a pile three or four feet high. The girls mushed it about a bit and came up with a pleasing configuaration. We couldn't just stop there though, that would have been totally boring and kind of anti-climactic. So...
We got out the trusty food dyes and we colored it. While it is always fun to randomly dribble dye on things without concern for the consequences, this still just wasn't good. Oh, it looked neat and all, our little mound of foamy fun, but really... it was still boring. So, I got out a really big knife.
And swirled it! Now this was fun! We made whirls and swirls and cut out the little bits we liked the best and took photos of them. Not sure what we are going to do with them, but they are cool to look at. Michelle even discovered that if she stuck her hand in it her skin would come out tie dyed. She was enthralled. Katy tried a finger or two but decided that was bohemian enough for her.
