What can a lump or feeling of something lodged in the throat the day after excessive vomitting mean?

Drank excessively last night.

Vomitted a lot last night.

Half way through vomitting complained about something lodged or stuck in his throat. Woke up this morning and still says it feels like something is stuck in there.
