Trader Joe’s Wild Pink Shrimp

These tiny wild pink shrimp were new at Trader Joe’s a week or so ago. I had never had them before, so I bought a can and thought I would give them a try. I don’t remember what the exact price was, but I remember thinking it was a bit pricey, maybe around $2.99 a can or something like that.

Here is what the shrimp inside the can looked like small-shrimp
This is a super close-up, but I think you can see that they were definitely very tiny. The tiniest shrimp I have ever eaten.

Unfortunately, I didn’t think they tasted much like shrimp. They really didn’t have much flavor at all. I was definitely disappointed with them and most likely will not be buying them again. I think somewhere on the can, or maybe on the sign in the store, it said that they were good in salads, so that’s how I ate half of the can - on top of a green salad. The other half, I mixed with some cocktail sauce and ate in lettuce wraps. I definitely prefer larger shrimp, shrimp with flavor that tastes like shrimp. These tiny shrimp are just a tease.
