Still to come: types on type 2 diabetes prevention

A rapidly growing problem in the USA is type 2 diabetes. The problem is currently out of control. The number that will be of specific concern is the 57 million people who are "pre-diabetic". This means they don't have diabetes, but eventually will. So what can be done? That is the question I am asking myself right now. So I am going to look at some positive ways to help prevent diabetes from coming on.
Currently what I have found is the average type 2 diabetic can expect to pay a minimum of $40,000 out of their own pocket over 30 years. The highest out of pocket I saw was $10,000 per year. Diabetes is the 7th leading cause of death in the USA. The risk of stroke is 2-4 times higher in diabetics than none diabetics. Add that all together with the risk of losing limbs, high blood pressure, and blindness this is a disease that should be prevented in as many cases as possible.
I will start formulating ideas about how to prevent this disease from setting in.
