As work stress has increased and joblessness looms, I've noticed an increase in stomach sensitivity. The sensation is similar to feeling overly full, an uncomfortable pressure just below the xyphoid process. The pressure is sufficient to make vomiting feel imminent, but it does not occur. The feeling dissipates within an hour, quicker with burping. Tums or famotidine seem help sometimes. Drinking water at these times seems to aggravate it instantly.
Sometimes I feel mildly nauseated in the morning; eating might relieve it, or worsen it for up to an hour before dissipating. At other times, drinking a cold beverage seems to bring on the discomfort instantly.
