Our Guts and Probiotics

I’m sure you’ve heard this over and over again, especially with all of today’s diet fads: “Probiotics are good for you! Consume as much as you can!” I found an interesting article, relating to the “good bacteria” fad and what to watch out for. They make mention of ulcerative colitis and other digestive illnesses and the effect of active cultures. Check it out!

As for me, I’ve actually been eating Dannon Light and Fit Yogurt every morning for the last two weeks and I feel amazing! My stool is less watery and has a much better consistency. I’m sure this is also aided by the fact that I’ve started a light workout regiment that consists of crunches, light weight lifting, and walking 3 times a week. My discharge hasn’t been bloody since I started the yogurt and exercise…I’ve got to be doing something right!

Saturday was the Take Steps Walk downtown at Soldier Field! Great time! Some of my friends from college came and joined my team, The Gut Busters, to walk for the cause! Over 500 friends, family, and pets attended the event and raised their voices together..always an inspirational experience. One that truly lifts your spirit; such hope and unity among humanity gives me good thoughts for the future. We shall conquer this together!
