My family is part Italian and part Polish so sausage has always been an integral part of my existence. I’ve given up on most encased meats in tube form since learning about nutrition and embarking on healthier diets for me such as the SCD. I am very wary of nitrates and nitrites and the harmful effects they can have on the human body and avoid them. And of course since most sausage type meats usually include ingredients that are not SCD legal like sweeteners, additives, etc, they are not even options in my mind.
Of course, every now and then I still get a craving for sausage, so I’m always looking out for new healthier products. I was so happy when I found Murray’s Chicken Sausage. Here is a close-up of the label so you can read the ingredients:
No sweeteners, no chemicals, no additives, just chicken, salt, and spices - what a good sausage should be. lol. They were a little pricey. 5 sausages for $5.53, but it was a pound of meat, and all natural, so it’s pretty much standard pricing for that type of product. And they were so good! I would definitely buy them again. These were the hot Italian type which definitely had a little bit of a kick to them. And being made from dark chicken meat, they were not nearly as fatty and greasy as typical pork sausages.
Murray's Chicken claims to be farm fresh and humane, but that is so far from the truth. On their website they give an address that is not the actual adress of their DOWNTOWN DIRTY FITHY SLAUGHTER HOUSE INDUSTRIAL FACTORY. Their actual location is on main street in the middle of downtown SOuth Fallsburg New York in Sulllivan County. If you come here to this horribly smelling town(thanks to Murray's filthy operation) you will see your half alive chicken dinner is big open cage 18 wheelers alll over town waiting in a line to be slaughter. You will find the trucks parked everywhere on pub;ic property, even right next to our town play ground. The image that they are selling to all of you chicken lovers is not remotely true.
