I have had a dull pain in my left side and my left arm. It has been there for a few days now but it seems to be getting worse?

Sometimes it is a dull ache then turns into a pain and then sometimes it can be really sharp. Now it has started on my right side but not affecting my right arm. Can someone give me any clues to what it could be?
