I have abused laxatives and had blood in my stool today. I didn't know I could take too many laxatives. Should I be alarmed?

I don't have health insurance so going to the doctor isn't something I am able to do.  How long should I wait to see if it goes away?  I had a large bowel movement from the laxatives when the first sight of bloody stool appeared.
