I am a healthy 25 year old facing unexplainable chronic constipation, and IBS every few months. I eat a healthy diet of vegetables and fruits, brown bread for the fibre and crushed flax seeds as well. So I don't know why my digestion doesn't work well.
I also have a problem with sexual urge as I am extremely attracted to my boyfriend but before we actually have sex I tire out and need to rest. We both end up more frustrated and this is making us both very stressed. I don't have chronic fatigue syndrome and am quite active otherwise. I don't know why this happens only when I want to have sex, especially because I really want to. I exercise 5 times a week and feel more refreshed than tired out after the work-out. I am somewhat over-weight inspite of this. Please help. I have already tried various herbal and homeopathic remedies without any real positive results

Dear ********,
Your symptoms are typical of what is an energy block in the lower spine. There is an area here that is a meeting place where three important body systems meet and overlap. These are the reproductive system (internal reproductive organs) , the nervous system (the spinal cord) and the digestive system (the bowels) . This 'overlapping' area is along the base of the back bone, very near the spinal cord.

Highly exaggerated spinal curve there - just to get the point across. Just a little spinal curve is enough to cause energy flow blocks. The area in red is the high tension area that has been blocked off from the rest of the spinal cord.
This is also the area which conducts raw sexual energy from the base of the torso up towards the heart and head. It is a high energy conductor and if for one reason or the other this energy is blocked off, it inflames the area, spilling over into the digestive, reproductive and nervous systems. This means IBS, bowel infections, water retention, chronic constipation at various times. It also means an inability to conduct sexual energy from urge to orgasm because the energy gets cut off before it moves up to the head. It could also mean the inability to transalate creative ideas into reality. There could also be dull constant pain in the back, knotting or twisting of nerves in the area and strong PMS symptoms (period related pain, mood-swings and discomfort).
When these conditions are accompanied by an inability to lose weight - especially from around the middle, its quite a confirmation of a lower spine energy block, because the cause of this block is usually wrong posture. This wrong posture is usually caused by carrying weight on the stomach, and the back bone tilting slightly forward because of the weight. This means there is a slight bend in the spinal cord and back bone, instead of being straight - which is how it should be to conduct nervous and energy signals upwards. This bend acts as a bottle-neck for energy conduction and after a while we have high energy vibrating in the area waiting to get released upwards.
When we are very turned on or inspired, we release energy at the bottom of the spine towards the head. If this energy gets stuck or blocked off along the spine, it dissipates, spreading tension in the area it is stuck in - and you suddenly are no longer able to accomplish what the energy surge was meant for. Like losing interest in sex even though you were really turned on just a minute ago. (Note: This can also be emotionally triggered, I'm just giving you the possible scenario given your other symptoms).
The simplest way to remove this lower spine energy block, is to correct your posture. Sit or stand, keeping your back bone straight. Now imagine you have an absolutely flat stomach, how would your posture be? Straighten your lower back bone. Now learn to keep this posture through the day, till you have absolutely corrected your posture and you're holding your back bone straight all the time whether you are conscious of it or not.
The other ways this lower spine energy block happens are;
1) Childhood conditioning where you are not allowed to act on or express physical urges and are told to sit or stand still to suppress energy bursts. This creates a habit of self-supressing energy instead of letting it flow through. You reverse this by learning to be more spontaneous and express your physical urges immediately without feeling you are being 'bad' or 'silly' or 'ridiculous' for being natural.
2) Years of eating food that is very difficult to digest. For example, milk that has melamine in it - which is like cement in the body and very difficult to digest. Also a diet that is predominantly made of refined white flour, with almost no fibrous content. Getting around this one means rehabilitating the digestive system by eating foods that have fibre and are easy to digest, and cutting out refined flour.
3) Not having an environment where your creativity can be expressed. Now we're not all lucky enough to have secure environments where we can be ourselves. But what we all can do is give ourselves time alone and opportunities to allow our creativity out. Our creative energy doesn't demand attention or appreciation from others - it just requires us to have the pleasure of expression.

There is another cause of lower spine energy block, that is rare in general but quite common among those practicing the meditation practice called 'Kundalini'. In this exercise, energy from the base of spine is consciously encouraged to move upwards to the head. It gives an immense feeling of awakeness and is the basis of most living beings' growth and development.
However, many do not know, or are not taught, that there is a reverse process to energy moving up. That reverse process is, energy moving downwards. It is also natural, it is also enlivening and very much a requirement as part of our daily energy cycle, especially if we are depressed, stressed out, have problems balancing weight, and have deep emotional wounds.
When you consciously keep moving energy upwards and then do not rest till your energy levels have balanced, and go into deep sleep enough for energy to balance out by moving downwards as well, you are actually causing short-circuiting in the nervous system. This can result in all manner of skin and hair problems, metabolic disorders, reproductive organ and sexual energy problems not to mention nervous system disorders like dementia, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, high irritability, allergies etc.
This also results in accelerating the deposit of calcium on the pineal gland in the mid-brain because of being over-energized. The deposition of calcium on the pineal gland gradually causes lessened response to sunlight, lessened ability to synthesize Vitamin D, messing up energy distribution and the sleep cycle and causing insomnia and depression along with accelerating ageing in the body.
Experts who have truly benefited from Kundalini yoga over the long term are those who have paid attention to the movement of energy both upwards and downwards. What goes up, has to come down - its the law of nature.
Remember that the only health there is, is holistic health. You cannot raise the ability of one part of you to perform, without taking care of the rest of your system as well. Any exercise or work effort, or medication that energizes one part of you, while draining you in other ways, is just not being done right. You are not getting any new energy at all, you are just manipulating the limited energy that's already in your body.
Whether you practise Kundalini Yoga or not, to truly charge your energy field, sleep deep at the right time, do the things that make you happy even if they are difficult to do, and bravely face your emotions. There are no replacements for these.
