Hello and welcome, This is going to be a blog where I'm going to share my experiences (both up and down) on unemployment and colitis. The reason for this is to try and inform and possibly help other colitis suffers and to help me cope with the day to day turmoil of being both unemployed and suffering from colitis. Well this is day one so you might have guessed correctly that I have unfortunately lost my job. I have been suffering from colitis for the last four months and due to this I have been off work for an extended period of time finally resulting in my employment being terminated. My employer was fine with me taking the time off but what they couldn't live with was that my illness had no end in sight. This is unfortunately the usual practice in the case of Colitis mainly because it's so difficult to get useful medication and an appointment with any gastrospecialist. STRESS, What do you mean STRESS!!!!.One of the main causes of Colitis is stress, and due to being laid off I'm having some very painful stomach cramps this evening. I'm not really looking forward to tonight as its always worse in the evening: I mainly have trouble with the pain and fever so sometimes its better to have my head out of the window than actually being in bed. And as expected my temperature was high and sleep was difficult. making me even more stressed out because i need to get things done in the day like sorting out benefits, making appointments with the bank and the job center and well continuing to have a life. Thank you for reading this and I will try to write more tomorrow depending on how I feel. Dave. |
