I’ve just spent a few minutes looking back at my posts from last year to see what I wrote about last January and realised that I didn’t actually start this blog until May last year. From memory though, this time last year I was about to start on an extreme detox of basically surviving on just broth for a week and then eating just rabbit food for ages! I did try it but unsurprisingly failed and I think that set the tone for the rest of last year. I was so keen to get results that I spent my time trying really harsh diets and giving up either through starvation or hitting a healing crisis and having to stop as my body gave up.
For the last few months of 2011 I went completely the other way and stuffed my face full of bad food and although I felt a bit sluggish, I could live with it. However, what has happened is that I have put on quite a bit of weight – this is not something that normally happens to me so that proves just how much I’ve eaten and my skin has also suffered as a result.
So, this year my plan is to take a much more considered and healthy approach to the whole thing. I still want to sort out my digestive system to the point where I’m not having to take tablets every day just to go to the toilet but I’m prepared to work gradually towards this. I’m also feeling less of a need to make random healthy foods and would rather stick to more standard natural produce.
I’ll be back on here with regular updates and welcome any suggestions from anyone else. This month my target is to exercise for 1.5 hours per week as per my new year’s resolution and to start losing weight – hopefully 7lbs by the end of Feb. To begin this, this week I’ll be making a fish pie for the first time with the recipe appearing on here if it’s good!
