Hi, I am new here and for the last 6 months have been experiencing abdominal pain that can be mild to severe. I can go weeks without experiencing any discomfort and then I will have an "attack" with bloating, nausea, vomiting, stomach cramping, discomfort (in bed) all day. Most of the time this begins in the middle of the night or early morning. This pain is in my upper middle abdomen just below my rib cageand all of my symptoms are consistent with H-pylori bacterial infection. A nurse has told me you can get rid of this type of infection by taking antibiotics, pepto bismol and Prevacid for 3 days (kills the bacteria), but this also kills all of my good bacteria as well. I am wondering if there are any natural remedies I could use instead of the other choice. For example would grapefruit seed extract be a good choice. Does anyone know if there are any good bacteria or enzymes that would eat this invader?
