This week's Fun Monday is hosted by the wonderful Sayre at Sayre Smiles.
She asks of us, " Using your imagination, project into the future and tell me what you will be like as an 80-year old. Will you be someone who doesn't accept the aging process, spending all your time in the
gym and the bars, or will you be a rocking chair granny, or something in between?"
When I am 80 years old I will be living on the North West Coast of the United States. Hopefully Oregon. I will no longer have Crohn's because it will cured by then. My Autism will no longer be noticed because by this age I will be considered pleasantly eccentric.
I will live in a house with a broad front porch decorated with hanging plants. I will work in the flower beds in my front yard wearing a broad sun hat. My back yard will have a small vegetable garden, bird baths and a bench under a wide crowned leafy tree. I will bake cookies and create and write, much as I do now. We will visit art galleries, museums, and theaters and I will still poke around in second hand and antique stores looking for tiny treasures for myself and friends. We will be regulars at a quaint little coffee shop where I will drink tea. I will belong to a Red Hat group, and I will ride a scooter. (Scott doesn't think a motorcycle is such a good idea for me.) My scooter will have a tasteful paisley decoration painted on it. I will hike, explore and still take photos of abandoned buildings. By this time I'll be even more brazen about it. Who's going to arrest a little old lady for trespassing? I'll still wear jeans and sneakers and read Archie Comic Digests. I'll still eat a cookie after every meal. I'll still watch cartoons and Masterpiece Mystery. I'll still complain about hot summers. I'll still write in my journals and I'll look back at this entry on my blog and smile. Read more...
