Hello, I am 25 years old and was diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis a few days ago, this is all a very scary thought for me to live the rest of my life with this. I am also looking for some sort of an alternative, I do not like the idea of taking steroids for the rest of my life. The gastroenterologist whom I visited stated that eating a low in fat diet will help, but he would not tell me exactly what would be easier on my liver, so I was a bit miffed about that. I am looking into combination food therapy and mostly going on a raw vegan diet, so that I get the most out of my food and it is not hard on my liver to breakdown the nutrients. I.E foods high in protien are harder for the liver to process.
