Crohn's disease is a form of inflammatory bowel disease. It involves inflammation of all layers of your intestine and can occur anywhere from your mouth to your anus, although most commonly it involves the part of your small intestine called the ileum. The inflammation leads to episodes of abdominal pain, diarrhea (which may be bloody), and malabsorption. There are also manifestations of the disease which occur outside of the intestine.
