The dietary chart the hospital sent me says I can eat ‘All white fish with no skin or bones’. And it clearly states I can’t have ‘Canned fish, fried fish, kippers or shellfish’. There’s no mention of fish fingers. I don’t know what category they fall into? So I took a gamble. I had fish fingers. Six of ‘em. I told you this was going to be gripping stuff. Admittedly this low fibre diet is varied enough for me to have been a little more adventurous in the kitchen, but my girlfriend is away and I’m only cooking for myself, so I went for a big old plate of comfort food.
