Colon Free Food Diary: Day the First!

Posted Sep 20 2012 10:06am

All right, let’s try this again. I had finished the entire post and was about to publish when the browser crashed and my computer decided to restart for updates without warning. Awesome. Best part? The draft didn’t save. TECHNOLOGY, everyone! ::SLOW CLAP::

Okay. A several small tidbits before I jump in.
1. When referring to bathroom visits, if I say normal, then it usually means the stool consistency is similar to applesauce. Any other descriptions will speak for themselves, I assure you.
2. I like to abbreviate because I am lazy, but I will try to write everything out as specifically as possible.
3. I have bad food habits too. One of them is skipping lunch. I can’t help it. I’m human. I like to snack more. Well, you’ll see.
4. My fiance and I flippin’ love Trader Joe’s!

Day 1 Go!

Bathroom Visit: 6:45 a.m. Consistency: Normal

Wake up: 7:50 a.m.
“And how are we feeling?”: Exhausted. Haven’t been getting enough sleep due to our two cats in heat howling during the night. Tim could sleep through a hurricane but if I hear a pin drop I wake up. WHY?? Thank goodness, we are taking them to get spayed tomorrow. Hopefully this will improve sleep patterns drastically.

Vitamins: 2 “One-A-Day” Multivitamin Gummies for Immunity Support (I adore these things and always take two every morning before breakfast. It’s like being a kid again. Only these are ten times better than Flintstones Vitamins!)

Breakfast: 9 a.m.
“And how are we feeling?”: Sleepy as heck.
What’s on the Menu 1 container Trader Joe’s (hereafter referred to as TJ’s) organic strawberry probiotic nonfat yogurt.
*Note: This yogurt is the boss! It is light, creamy, and no chalky, bitter aftertaste. Believe me, I have eaten every brand of yogurt under the sun: Fage, Dannon, Yoplait, Eat Smart, Activia, Chobani, but this stuff really does it for my digestive system. It’s got six active cultures: S. Thermophilus, L. Bulgaricus, L. Acidphilus, Bifidus, L. Casei, and L. Rhamnosus. All these good bacterium really make a difference in my regularity. If I forget to eat yogurt for a day or two, my stomach gets really crampy and bloated.
1 banana (Superfood!)
1 TJ’s plain bagel with 2 tbsp Jiffy lowfat creamy peanut butter (I love carbs.)
1 16 oz glass of water (filtered)

Snack: 1:00 p.m.
“And how are we feeling?”: Chillin’ out, maxin’, realaxin’ all cool
What’s on the Menu 1 TJ’s “This Strawberry Walks into a Bar” cereal bar
1 cup Jasmine Green Tea (hot)

Bathroom Visit: 1:20 p.m. Consistency: Normal

Lunch: Yup, I skipped. Told you I would. At least I didn’t lie!

Bathroom Visit: 5:30 p.m. Consistency: Normal

Dinner: 8:30 p.m.
“And how are we feeling?”: HUNGRY!!!! FEED ME, SEYMOUR!
What’s on the Menu 1 cup chopped, steamed broccoli (fresh)
1.5 cup TJ’s Sweet Potato Gnocchi in sage butter (What a great find! This stuff is delicious and perfect for fall!)
2 16 oz. glasses of water (filtered)

Bathroom Visit: 9:30 p.m. Consistency: Slightly runny, gassy

“And how are we feeling?”: Stomach starts to groan. Expect it’s the combination of late eating and broccoli.
Meds: Took a Gas-X strip before bed. Relief in about 30 minutes. I will suffer for this tomorrow.

Bedtime: 12:30 a.m.
Slept on the couch with cats so they wouldn’t whine. Also feeling guilty about taking them in for spay surgery tomorrow, although it needs to get done!

Bathroom Visit Tally: 4 times

Boom. Day the First Complete.
See you all tomorrow!
