Cardio Theaters Rock

cardio-theater

Just a few weeks ago I heard someone saying that the only reason they go to their gym is because the gym has dark cardio. That way, they can workout and no one can really see them. I thought that was strange. Until they explained that the reason it’s dark is because it’s a movie theater, but instead of seats, they have cardio machines. Then I thought Wow! What a brilliant idea! I remember wishing they had something like that near me that I could go to.

A week or two later, a friend who I have not seen in about 2 years, texts me and wants to know if I want to hang out. So we meet up at a local restaurant and start catching up. Somehow, we got on the topic of health and fitness. I was telling him that I wanted to join a gym but there weren’t any good ones near me. I had recently done a trial week at the best one closest to my house and I didn’t like the gym layout, there were no windows, they didn’t have enough machines, and they were way too expense at $100 a month. He was looking at me like I was crazy. Then he told me that he had been going to this new gym that they opened up a few months ago in the next town over from me. He said it was huge, had plenty of windows, lots of machines, and was only $20 a month. AND on top of all that, they had a cardio theater!

I was like “what?! did you say cardio theater?”. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. There I was just a week or so ago wanting a cardio theater somewhere near me, and then there I was having a random conversation at a spur of the moment get-together with someone I haven’t seen in years who was giving me information about a local cardio theater. It just goes to show you how powerful The Power Of Intention and The Law Of Attraction can really be!

Needless to say, I went to take a tour of the gym the next day and was very impressed with it. I didn’t join right away because my week was so hectic and crazy I knew I wouldn’t be able to use, but I finally had some time yesterday. Today was my first work-out there.

OMG! I love cardio theaters! I did 45 minutes on an elliptical machine while watching some college themed movie from the 80’s. Not only does the movie give you a distraction from the monotony of a cardio workout, but it makes you want to work-out longer to see what happens, or how the movie ends! Yes, I know, alot if not most cardio machines have tv screens on them and you can watch tv shows on them and flip through channels, but you still feel like you’re in a gym. There is something oddly relaxing about working out in a dark theater with other people who are all watching the same movie. You kind of forget that you’re in a gym and that you’re working out! And this particular chain of gyms has a retro 80’s theme, so the movies are from the 80’s. As someone who grew up in the 80’s, it’s so nostalgic.

I can’t wait to go back. This gym could potential get me into the best shape of my life. :)

I don't know about So Cal. I know they're popping up in NJ, NY, and the East Coast.
