Hi karinita,
Im having the same problem too. for the past 4 years, ive been suffering from ibs.
the symptom is almost the same as your husband. Ive been visiting too many doctors that is uncountable for untill now, the result turns out to ibs and chronic gastric. a bit of a disapointment for me though. DiD endoscopy and colonoscopy for 2years in a row, but they found nothing. Untill now the pain, and uneasy feeling is still there, but i managed to control it somehow. I dont believe in antacid n so on, cuz i guess id rather let my body to cure itself.
Well enuff bout me, lets talk bout your husband now. I think he is allergic to cheese. It is well known for some ibs sufferer to have allergic with lactose. As for me, its a no-no. if i do, then i will have stomach problem for a week just for a single sliced of pizza.
I will hv diheria, stomach cramp, and nauseus all together. Another thing is sugar or substitute sugar eg. aspartam and etc. it will make our stomach upset. Try to cut down the intake and he will feel the difference. Try to relax, do some activity to forget about it for as long as he can. It helps sometimes. For me, im hving it untill now, and it seems, theres no cure for us. But he has to eliminate some of the food that will make his stomach upset. It wont cure him, but it will reduce the stomach pain. for some reason, he will not feel the pain or having an upset stomach anymore. I know its hard, but he has to try. And not to worry bout loosing weight, if he does, cuz that is the side effect of eliminating food process. im no doctor, but my doctor only can say that im having ibs. dats all, (How helpful). as for now, i dont hv the problem that often, but if i eat something dat i shudnt be eating, i will feel like dying. so, ask him to keep his journal and start to write wat good and wats not for him. Try not to do take outs, as yull never know the ingredients
thats all, i hope it helps :) ( i know how he feels ) trust me, it ruins his life.

We always eat home made meals, I do take care of preparing but a couple of days ago we ordered pizza and ate it two days in a row. That was an excuse. I ate more than my husband and I am ok but not too good for him, he's been on diarrhea since then, although it's not urgent he only have to go after eating any meal. 3-4 times a day. In the past he's always have bowel problems, two years ago he got all the tests: endoscopy, colonoscopy, and parasites. He was treated for gastritis and amebiasis. A colon polyp was removed. After that he started to feel much better, no symptoms showed. He has even been diagnosed with IBS, who has not? stress is a part of our lives. Every doctor we saw said different things and we no longer have confidence, which makes me wonder, is there anything else we could do to help my husband with this problem? He gets extremely worried and I feel I can't help but preparing some teas and broth. I'd like to hear from other people similar experiences in this matter and the way to handle.
