There is a prominant female doctor (also president of some medical association) somewhere in the mid west who refuses to treat her diabetes 2 patients (doesn't include 1s) with medication. Instead, she puts them all on low carb diets. I am type 2 and I know I can totally control my BS on low carb diet and try not to eat more than 30 g carbs/day. The minute I add more carbs (and it doesn't matter if whole grain, fruit, veggie), my blood sugar goes out of sight.
