I felt so blessed to be able to go to Ronald Reagan Elementary School and give an assembly. The “Empower me” Kids Movement is a kid by kid movement. The 5th grade class was so receptive of my message of eating healthier and getting 30 min of exercise a day I was able to share my personal story and let them know that at one time I did not eat right or get enough exercise and because of that I developed Type 2 diabetes. At the end of the assembly I had all the kids “Get Up and Get Moving” It was a wonderful day!! :-) A Healthier Generation.org is a great place to visit to get ideas on how to change the way we live. We need to lead by example. Our kids need us to teach them what is important. Empower Me is a web site where kids can set a goal and get ideas about what they can do to live healthier.
