How 'Bout Dat Cowboy?

Posted Nov 04 2009 10:01pm

The Dallas Cowboys' "number two" tight end, Martellus Bennett, has been serving as an advocate to increase awareness of diabetes. During a recent press conference, he may have upset "Cowboy Nation" a bit with a comment.

Bennett joined a young pump-treated Type 1 diabetic female (Kendall Tubbs) in a photo-op in which he would be on the receiving end of a football thrown by Kendall.

It seems he'll be scorned in Cowboy Land for speaking the truth. Well, it seems to be the truth to this New York Giants fan after wondering, for three years now, how a fairly mediocre quarterback in Dallas could be revered as if he's already a lock for the Hall of Fame.

"I hope she's not Tony Romo cause I won't get the ball," he said.

The complete article is here.

Thanks to Bennett for speaking out in support of diabetes care and for providing football fans, outside of Dallas, with an opportunity to smile or laugh.
