Cooking classes!

Posted Sep 26 2009 8:03am
Today I want to talk about a cooking class my sister got me as a gift, so that I might better learn how to cook for myself/diabetes. The nutritionist who teaches the classes (personalized to one's needs in one's home, so even if you don't have diabetes -- say, just want to eat healthier or get together with your girlfriends -- she can teach you) is Robyn Webb, who was recently featured on Let's Talk Live and has her own line of cookbooks, some of which I have (which is how my sister found out about her). I have to say, it was really fun, and I'm not a big fan of cooking. My sister came along too, because diabetes runs in our family (AND her boyfriend has it), and we both want to eat preventatively. Robyn really knew her stuff and was good at showing us how to do things and telling us why things were good for us.

This was one of the best gifts I've received in a long time, and i think it would translate well to any age group. Robyn even mentioned having done one with a group of girls before they went off to college, which I thought was pretty cool.

Highly recommend!
