I thought perhaps we all needed a bit of Christmas cheer to get the day going. I know I do. Today I’m going to get Ed’s clock painted and get my fabric postcards ready to send out for the exchange. In a moment of inattention last night I told my granddaughter she could help me when I started painting. This is a 6″ circle of wood. It will take less than 5 minutes to paint. How am I going to let her help? What can she do? Dang! I wish I’d learn to listen more carefully to what I’m saying.;D
My doctor sends a letter with the results of lab work and comments or changes he wants made. I received my letter for my last visit yesterday. My A1c has gone from 5.5 about a year ago to 7.0. His comments were that I should watch my carb intake, check my BS more often, and count my carbs more accurately. My son-in-law remarked that he thought I always looked at my food before eating it. ‘yuk, yuk’ I have begun checking my sugars more often. Try to remember to do that every day. And they are coming down slowly. I guess this is one of the things I need to care about. I’m also watching my blood pressure every day. When I was in the office it was 175/92. Doc quadrupled my bp meds. Just took a minute out for some testing. Blood sugar is 143 and BP is 155/94. Both still a bit high. Do you suppose my diet of mostly cheese and toast could be contributing to the problem? That’s what I thought, too. Challenge for today: find something other than toast and cheese that I can eat without setting off another round of digestive problems.
MERRY CHRISTMAS DRAGON SLAYERS!
