Diabetes Foods help keep Normal Sugar Levels

It is emphasized that diabetes foods you can eat are absolutely different. Though diabetes mellitus is a disorder of the body associated with blood sugar, it does not mean that the food intake should be completely free from sugar component. As a matter of truth, any food contains sugar ingredient whereas an ideal diabetes food contains sugar exactly to the required level to help regenerate body’s energy. Food intake is followed by absorption of glucose sugar into the blood cells, generation of bodily energy, activating muscles and bones, exhaustion of energy, need for regeneration of energy, and again eating food. This is the cycle of food intake and generating energy. It should be noted here that the main source of energy production is sugar that undergoes recycling process. Being so, sugar cannot be completely avoided in the name of controlling diabetes symptoms and maintaining normal sugar levels.

Proteins, vitamins, and mineral salts are needed for building bodily tissues and structure whereas sugar is equally needed to activate human metabolism. The optimal level of sugar component is another factor to consider. There is no such a list of diabetic foods to suit all diabetics. In this sense, diabetes diet chart cannot be standardized to suit in general all diabetics. Here is the need for careful investigation of the patient’s condition to confirm as hyperglycemia or hypoglycemia. The same list of foods cannot be recommended to suit hyperglycemics and hypoglycemics. For those having lower levels of blood sugar (less than 80 mgs/dl in empty stomach and less than 120 mgs/dl after one and half hours after eating) foods that are sufficiently in increased potential to boost glucose sugar and keep normal levels of blood sugar. On the contrary, for those possessing increased blood sugar (higher than 130 mgs/dl in fasting sugar test and higher than 180 mgs/dl in postprandial sugar test), eating foods low in sugar is the best choice.

Ideal foods for diabetes

The above words make it clarified that different diabetes foods are suggested for different conditions. However, after achieving a fair control of sugar levels a good diet plan is recommended for healthy life. Though you are taking diabetes medications, you should have a list of diabetes foods to eat and avoid with balanced choices of carbohydrates, protein, and some good fats. Just follow the guidelines of American Diabetes Association or advice of your doctor!
