Changing Schedules

Posted Aug 21 2011 11:41pm

After church my parents and I went to Swanky's Taco Shop which is a fun Mexican restaurant right by our house. During the day it's a walk-up and order place, but at night it's a sit-down restaurant. All three of us opted for the design your our own salad bowl.

I had chicken (eww, this wasn't a good choice; I ended up eating around the chicken), grilled veggies, tomatoes, cheese, guacamole and yellow peppers. Pretty good, but I wish I'd left the chicken off! I only ended up eating about half- this bowl was huge! I loved the guacamole of course.

After lunch and getting everything packed up I was off for school! My parents were going to hang out in Como at our lakehouse/farm for the afternoon and it's halfway between Memphis and Oxford, so my mom rode in the car with me and I dropped her off in Como. She read aloud a chapter about Paris from Pat Conroy's Reading Life. It made me miss Paris! Having studied abroad there, I just love books/movies/quotes about Paris. I get all the hype. I loved/love it too.

It took many trips, but I got all of my stuff from my car to my floor! And now everything's just about totally unpacked! I had to quit due to a low blood sugar at one point, but I recovered and was able to finish.

For my afternoon snack I had a hardboiled egg on the drive down (I am such a fan lately) and then celery and almond butter after treating my low.

*I had been running in the 150's all morning and didn't have time to exercise, so I had put myself on a 125% basal during the drive. However after arriving and making many trips up and down stairs to move all my stuff in, I ended up at 64. Increased temporary basal canceled. Juice sipped. Snack time!

I like iced coffee when it's cold outside (and I don't like to wake up my roommates with the coffeemaker at the early hour I often wake up), so I made my coffee this afternoon for tomorrow morning. I had a small cup as a pick-me-up! When I'm low, if I don't know that I'm low, I often think I really need some caffeine. Thinking I need coffee is a pretty sure sign for me of a low blood sugar for me.

I finished the first episode of the Bachelor Pad (ahhh Vienna!!) and then met my old roommate for dinner at Two Stick. It was one of our only choices, because in a small town in Mississippi, most restaurants are closed on Sundays.

I forgot my phone, so no picture, but I had the sashimi platter. It was good! Lots of tuna and salmon and another fish that I'm not sure about. I've just recently starting loving wasabi... I had too much on a few pieces of fish that made tears come to my eyes though! I was guzzling water.

I've just been sitting around chatting and helping my roommate from South Carolina carry lots of her stuff up. Luckily we're only on the second floor.

I'm hoping to get up and exercise in the morning to get my day started right!

Have a great night!
