would it hurt to drink alchohol if you take prozac everynow and then?

Hi there- I'm answering as a patient and not as a doctor. I've been on prozac, and I did have drinks "every now and then". I would have the WORST hangover the next day, would have a horrible headache close to a migraine, and just suffer for the next day after that as well.

It says on the warning label "do not drink alcoholic beverages while taking this medication" for a reason. Alcohol is a depressant, which slows your system down. The antidepressant interacts with the alcohol, making your system even more sluggish. I would stay away from drinking while you're on any antidepressant/psychiatrict medication just for your own safety and health.
