Quit Reduce Smoking Update 5

Okaaaaay...
I've been kinda naughty on the smoking scale. The last 2 days I've had about 3 or 4 a day. Today I bought a packet.
Okay, to be honest, I bought 2 packets - but they are supposed to last me 2 weeks....
Ugh.
It's really bizzare. I can go hours and hours without one, so I am getting used to them not being there, in a way, and just getting on with my day. But when I reeeaaallly want one, I do.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Although at least those moments are very few and far between.
Why was it so damn easy on the first day, and every day following it's getting harder and harder? I don't get it. Isn't it supposed to be the other way around????
Hmmmm.




I keep making excuses...
  • I'll only have 5 a day...
  • If I only have 5 a day I only need to buy 2 packets a fortnight...
  • It's only $40...
  • It's better for me than the amount I was smoking before...
  • I want to be able to smoke in my own house...
  • 5 a day isn't that bad...
  • At least I wont be bored...
  • etc
  • etc
  • etc




I know it's all bullshit, but I guess we try to hang on to these things anyway.
It's weird mostly because I'm not really even enjoying the cigarettes I do smoke. They taste horrible, smell worse, and I end up only smoking half of them.
I don't know why I'm lighting up except for the habit of it. I'm so used to doing it, it's become such an intrinsic part of my daily routine... strange.
Tomorrow, I am going for none again.
I WILL beat this!




House update -




Rang the Housing Department and they said I should have the keys by about monday or tuesday. Mum brought me some boxes home from her work today. My aunty is organising curtains and my cousin is contemplating light fixtures...
This is suddenly getting a tad real.
God, what on earth will I eat ????
