- watching shadows dance on tree leaves
- smiling at an elderly person you see at the shops or in public
- getting a book off your bookshelf that you haven't read in years and re-reading it to see if you notice anything more/different
- watching an old black and white movie - no sex, no swearing, no violence and happy endings!
- standing in the sun and really focusing on how good it feels against your skin
- finding shapes and pictures in the clouds
- looking at the stars and noticing how they twinkle like christmas lights - and you'll see a shooting star too, they're more common than people think
- writing a list of things you've learnt about a certain subject or just life in general
- writing a list of questions you've always wondered about the world/universe/science, etc and putting it by the computer so when you're bored or need distracting you can look up the answers (eg: why is the sky blue? who the hell WAS this Freud guy? how do they make dog food? (not recommended...))
- cleaning out that 'junk drawer' you've avoided looking at - seriously, cleaning sucks, but when you're finished it feels really good

- finding a patch of moss/clover/etc and making up a story in your head about the tiny fairies that live there
- getting binoculars/a telescope and looking at the moon, or going to a hill/lookout and looking at stuff with binoculars
- download Google Earth and look at weird places or places you'd like to go - I've 'been to' the pyramids, the Mediterranean, Washington, Africa, Stonehenge, Greece, New Zealand, etc
- try an ice cream flavour you normally wouldn't or haven't tried before
