Hi Sophie,
If you were on your 5th period day it is very unlikely you would have got pregnant, especially if your fiance didn't actually put his penis inside of you. We fall pregnant if we have sex around the time of ovulation which is usually around the middle of your cycle - for example if you have a period every 30 days you would most likely ovulate around days 13-16.
Remember if you don't want to fall pregnant just now there are lots of contraceptives available, some that you have to take each day or others that can be longer lasting if you think you might forget to take a pill each day.
