Heart surgery and depression

Posted by SkyGunner

I have been told that any type of surgery dealing with heart repair can cause depression afterwards. I've had two stents emplaced within two weeks of each other. The first encountered difficulties and it took two hours to finish, with quite a bit of bruising in the injection site. The second time I became aware of tremendous  feeling of pressure, as if my chest was about to explode. I was told this was normal as the balloon expanded and stent emplaced.

Could this working so long once and feelings of a heart attack second have caused feelings of depression?
