Excitement in the mailbox!

Posted Aug 04 2008 2:03am
I got a letter from the Department of Housing today - My application for priority housing has been APPROVED!!!!
Oh.My.God.
I'm so excited. I didn't think they'd approve me, so it's a huge weight off my shoulders to finally know they did. I've been waiting for the results for about 5 weeks I think.
It could take up to 6 months for them to find me a flat, but equally, it could be next fortnight, so it's time to be prepared for anything! Note to self: throw out all that junk I've been avoiding looking at for 3 years... and start sorting and packing non-essential items, ie: practically everything.
Oh.My.God.
On another level I'm actually scared now. This means it's really going to happen - I'm really going to move out of home! Sh*t! Note to self: start stocking up on home brand tuna...
Wow, mixed feelings... excitement is at the forefront though, thank god.
It's a bit disconcerting that I don't know when it will be, but I have to live with that I guess. I'd feel premature to start packing of course, seeing as though it could be another 6 months away. But I've moved house with mum enough times to know how sh*tty packing is, so I guess getting as much stuff as I can put away now will save on the work I'll need to do when they find me a property (See above picture. Ok, maybe not... I'd prefer purple actually).
Not going to go mad, though. Maybe just a box a week or something. It will save time and stress when it all happens and so much else is going on. First though, I have to sort and chuck out all the accumulated junk I have - a frightening task to be sure, but probably very therapuetic just the same. Despite the reason for doing it.
So, excellent news!
Yay!
*Thankyou Universe*
*...now about that rich boyfriend I requested.....*
