drinking and sertraline

Husband prescribed 100 mg of sertraline for alcohol abuse. he quit for 6 mos. then started drinking again and takes pills also. usual rate of alcohol is 8 to 10 beers a day then take pils at eve. What should I look out for and what can I say to get him to stop taking both? Side effects? harm to body?
