Depression Test

Posted Feb 23 2009 9:39pm

There are a number of Depression Tests online and although they are not as accurate a reading you would receive from a doctor or therapist the depression test can give you a pretty good idea whether or not this area in your life that should be brought up with your doctor.

DEPRESSION TEST

1. I'm tired a lot.
2. Decisions are more difficult to make lately.
3. I cry more than I used to.
4. I feel edgy and tense.
5. My sleep patterns have changed. (more, less or disrupted).
6. I stay to myself a lot.
7. I just don't enjoy things the way I used to.
8. I have to push myself to do even the simplest of things.
9. I have lost interest in sex.
10. eat more/less than I used to.

Depression Test Results

If you answered more than three questions Yes it is a good idea to get checked out by your doctor
If you answered more than four but less then seven then there is a good chance you are experiencing a moderate depression episode
If you answered more than seven then you already know that you should be speaking to your doctor to catch this difficulty early

Depression Test Missing Key Factor
What the above test and the majority of other depression tests lack in their rather quick and simple test is time. Time is the factor that your doctor is looking for. If you have had the majority of symptoms of depression for only a few days then the doctor is not going to get overly worried but if you have had the above symptoms for quite some time the doctor should see red flags and advise some kind of treatment that starts immediately.
