coping methods for depression when unable to take antidepressants(due to adverse reactions to these meds)

I suffer from chronic pain due to peripheral neuropathy, and have been unable to work for 5 yrs now. Also just had a dog whom I was very close to die due to being hit by a truck, and my husband and I are facing economic problems.
