An unlikely support group

Image by Powerhouse Museum Collection via FlickrI joined Facebook so I could keep up with pictures of my beautiful grandson (I now have two of those), and my younger daughter got me to use Twitter . I was sure I had nothing of interest to say until I found the Twitter version of group therapy, or the Mad-O-Sphere as it is so perfectly described by my wonderful friend Shiv.

It's amazing that when I'm feeling like crap I will get caring and supportive comments. When I have something joyous or positive to share, others revel in my accomplishments. I love being there for those who need it and sharing in their joys and sorrows. It's comforting to know that I am not alone with my mental illness, and it never ceases to amaze me how kind total strangers can be.

I always hated going to group therapy, but Facebook and Twitter are the best groups I've ever attended.
