White Spots

Dear Dr. Ellie:

Thanks for your reply. I just went to my health food store & bought some granular xylitol. I am 'eating' 2 teaspoons a day for 8 grams. I try to spread them out as much as I can, but sometimes during the week [like at school] it's hard for me to get any during the day. So then I'll just eat the 2 teaspoons at night. Do you think not drinking as much pop would noticeably speed up the process? What about how my two front teeth seem 'chalkier' every now & then?

Dear AS

Every time you drink pop you damage your teeth but if you eat (or drink - see below) xylitol immediately after the drink - you take away this damage.

If you do not protect your teeth after the pop you will not heal your teeth.

Your choice is simple :
Either give up pop - (and replace with an alkaline drink- I can only think of two: Evian Water or Fiji water)
Or find a way that you can protect your teeth after you dink pop.

Use :
Zellies mints or gum (very easy) or
Make a drink out of one or two packets of granular xylitol. Keep this special water drink in your back pack and sip it after your pop to 'wash" your teeth. This amount of xylitol dissolved in a 6 or 8 oz of water will not taste any different from water - little to no sweetness ....but the effects will amaze you!

I suggest you tweak what you are doing and I think you will see a big difference. Make sure your toothbrush is clean - and that you have the correct formula ACT mouth rinse.

Good luck,
