My oral surgeon told me my dental implant from 1989 has become encapsuled. He told me I could continue using it. If it starts giving me issues ie: red tissue, soreness to come see him. He stated he would then need to replace it. I asked him what else could we do. He stated he could remove implant now since I am not having problems & insert a larger implant. Is this as invasive as the original surgery? What is the healing time & complications from larger implant?
