Dear Dr. Ellie:I would like to start using your complete mouth care system. My question is can I use Aim toothpaste instead of the Crest. I have always liked Aim better. I only use the regular old Aim, not the tartar control or whitening. Thanks for the info.
WH Hi WH
I have just taken twenty minutes to search the web for a chart that shows different abrasiveness of toothpaste. It appears this chart is no longer available - which is a shame - because it showed clearly that most toothpaste is way too abrasive.
From what I recall, Aim was about double the amount you want ( a score close to 200) when the number/ score you need is a score of around 100 (on this chart of abrasiveness). Crest Original comes in around 102.
I will continue to recommend
these exact ingredients - because together they work like a charm!
I have rave reviews from happy people all day long - every day - who have overcome their dental problems!
If you want to continue to use Aim - I cannot make guarantees - and it may interfere and compromise your end results - but you will never know!
So, you could continue with Aim (but if you do you should use only a very little) or you could try Crest for a month. After a months you could switch, and decide for yourself if you "feel" any difference between the pastes.
My teeth are so smooth and shiny that when I try an abrasive paste I can tell in seconds - I literally "feel" scratches on my tooth enamel. If your teeth are stained or sensitive or you get plaque build up - I would recommend you put the Aim away and try the system the way I recommend it. (Symptoms of staining, plaque and sensitivity are often from using toothpaste that is too abrasive).
Good luck and I hope this helps,
Ellie
