Tooth Enamel

Posted Sep 29 2010 12:25pm
hi Ellie:

I was wondering about the rationale for including the Crest toothpaste in the complete mouth care system.

Is there something in Crest that specifically aids in remineralization ? If so, what is that something ?

Additionally, is there any mouthwash or chewing gums... or a recommended list of foods, etc,.. that will speed up the remineralization of my teeth ?

Thank you very much for your help and time... I really appreciate it :-)

Have a lovely day
B

Hi B,

Yes there is definite rationale for the Crest - and when people mix and match - switching our one element - they don't get the great/amazing/fantastic results!

The reason Crest performs so well in the system is that it is one of the few toothpastes made with silica.

Most newer pastes contain chalk (cheaper to produce= higher profit margin). Chalk binds tightly to sodium fluoride and does not release it to the tooth.

Consequesntly most new pastes are made with stannous fluoride (a tin based product that can stain teeth- and I do not recommend).

Quick fluoride release
The silica in Crest quickly releases fluoride to the tooth surface. You do not rinse between the paste stage and the next one ( the Listerine). This process allows the Listerine to clean teeth - while the fluoride residue protects the tooth surface from the acidity of the Listerine.

Perfect for Cleaning
Another reason Crest is that it is not too abrasive for enamel, and does a great cleaning job.

Toothpaste abrasiveness is measured from 1 to 200 and the middle point (around 100) is perfect for cleaning tooth enamel.

Original Crest Cavity Protection paste registers 102 on this scale. Many "health food" toothpastes are like sandpaper and whitening ones can come in around 200!
No glycerin
The last reason for the Crest choice is that is does not contain glycerin ( which is in many other pastes )

Glycerin is said to inhibit remineralization. I don't know if this is true - but from the amazing results of those using my system - obviously we get remineralization with Crest as part of the technique!
For Remineralization
Follow the Complete Mouth Care System ( with 100 percent xylitol gum and mints) exactly as I recommend and you will be amazed at the improvements.

If you need more help understanding remineralization - my book is a good read! If you don't like to read - at least download the instructions for the Complete Mouth Care system. http://www.zelliescleanwhiteteeth.com/pdfs/Complete-Mouthcare-System-Guide.pdf

I recommend getting the entire system shipped to you - to ensure you start with the correct products.

You WILL BE AMAZED if you follow my directions - EXACTLY!

This is like a cake recipe and when you start messing with it - the results will be different.

Good luck,

Ellie
