Three Levels of Sedation Dentistry

Posted Sep 11 2008 8:00pm

Each individual needs a different level of sedation. Three different levels of sedation are offered for your comfort. Nitrous Oxide Gas Sedation is generally used for light dental treatment. A sense of relaxation is produced and you are able to drive yourself home after treatment. Oral Pill Sedation for light to moderate dental treatment. Most patients have no memory of dental procedure; cost and administration is relatively easy. Finally, Intravenous I.V. Sedation for moderate to extensive dental treatment. With I.V. sedation Dr. Gibbs is able to carefully control the amount of sedation to the patient’s needs resulting in superior pain and comfort control.
