Smokeless Tobacco & Oral Cancer

Lets face it, you may like smokeless tobacco, but smokeless tobacco HATES your mouth. This, despite the message Major League Baseball players are trying to sell you. In fact, you may be surprised to find out that chew contains more than 2,000 chemicals - many that have been directly linked to causing cancer( ). Furthermore, it has been shown that chew users have an oral cancer rate several times higher than that of non-tobacco users.

  • Tooth abrasion
  • Increased tooth decay
  • Tooth discoloration and bad breath
  • Nicotine dependence
  • Oral cancer

Possible Symptoms

If you’re a current user of smokeless tobacco, or have in the past, provides the following early cancer warning signs:

  • A sore that does not heal
  • A lump or white patch
  • A prolonged sore throat
  • Difficulty in chewing
  • Restricted movement of the tongue or jaws
  • A feeling of something in the throat
