Jake Brown, a 32-year old professional skateboarder, made a conscious decision to adjust his body so he would land on his back during his 40-plus foot fall on Sunday, August 5th, during the ESPN X-GAMES 13 Big Air Event.
ABC's Diane Sawyer reported, "He didn't want to lose his teeth." Jake flailed his legs in mid-air to turn his body upward so he would'?t land head first and possibly break his teeth.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), more than 26,000 people are treated in hospital emergency rooms each year for injuries related to skateboarding. If you or your kids are skateboarding, make sure everybody is safe.
