almost all of my molars have had root canals performed by dentist, except the last two treatments. These were both performed by 2 different endodontist. The first root canal left me with a swollen mouth the size of a bowling ball. When I called the doc he said it was ok and there was nothing he could do. I had pain when I pressed down on my cheek and this infection for months. The second root canal done this year was performed by a different endo and it has been 2 weeks and I still have pain when I press the cheek and tap it. When i called he said this is normal and it was a big infection and will take awhile to heal. This does not make sense to me whereas I thought the whole purpose of a root canal was to clean out the infection. I am worried that this past year I have had a chronic bacteremia from both teeth and it could be causeing endocarditis or another heart disease. Is this normal?
