numbness in a quadrant of the jaw/gum area/and cheek?

I have experienced two other corners of my mouth/cheek/lips this way over maybe the last 30 days the second just two days ago. Now the upper right cheek and jaw are a little numb this AM and I am wondering what's going on? I have ongoing need for root plaining and there was a tooth lost to it a while back.
