Is My Age a Problem for Implant Dentistry?

Posted Aug 26 2008 5:03pm

Sometimes older patients wonder if their age may prevent them from enjoying the benefits of dental implants. Health is more of a determining factor than age. If you’re healthy enough to have a tooth extracted, you’re probably healthy enough to receive dental implants. Certain chronic diseases may contraindicate dental implant treatment. Many of the factors some people feel are problem, such as osteoporosis or medications, modern implant dentistry can usually handle.

At Dr. Gibbs’ office we restored patients as old as 92 with implants. Read the patient feedback to see how implants positively improved her quality of life! Also, read some of other blogs listed here or in Dr. Gibbs’ website. Implants are clearly a cost versus benefit and quality of life decision!
